National Geophysical Data Center of the United States which provides these pictures for free for public use.

WeatherFleks uses a free webservice to retrieve the shown datas. This service uses soap.

weatherfleks a adobe flex application
 WeatherFleks shows you the current weather conditions of many locations in the world.

Parameter like humidity, windspeed, winddirection, temperature and pressure are shown in a visiual way.
When you choose a country using the first selectBox the application connects a webservice and retrives the locations. These locations are now visible in the second selectBox.
If you select a location in this box the application connects the webservice again, gets the current data and shows it.

 After you choose a country and a location in this country WeatherFleks shows you this selected location in the map. For a zoom in just click in the area of interest in the map.

  »  WeatherFleks uses Cairngorm

WeatherFleks gained in the last weeks a certain level of complexity. So the use of a framework became an issue. Since in the Flexworld existing only a few wellknown Frameworks the choice was easy to made.
Cairngorm depends on designpatterns like the GOF-Comandpattern.
The folks of cairngorm also introduced a new pattern called modellocator wich is really worth to have a look at it. Especially this pattern made the further development really easy. Its also really easy to get in to use of cairngorm because it uses only a few classes and interfaces compare to typical javaframeworks.
